hidden meanings

Today I am seriously wondering if there is some sort of hidden meaning in this situation.
I don't know if it's just me or if everybody does this.

I love to crochet. I am not a gramma, I just love to crochet!
The thing is I have a hard time finishing projects.
I start something and get all excited about it and want to see it completed...
and then I see a new pattern...
and then I see new yarn...
and then I have a new idea that I just can't wait to try out.
So I stop production on first said project to start a new one.
I think I have 4 or 5 projects on the go and none of them are close to being finished.

Now I'm thinking all deep and stuff and wondering if this is who I am.
Am I just a 'starter'. Can I not see things through until the end. Do I have no self discipline at all. I'm trying to see the good in this but I just can't find it right now.

Reading this over it sounds silly, but I feel better!
And I think I'm going to get my buns away from the 'puter and pick up some yarn.

(to finish an existing project of course)

tired

Today I feel tired. My body is tired. My brain is tired.

So...

I take pictures of the happiest person around.

All she has to do is snuggle up next to me and say...
'Mama, let's just have a nap on the couch.'

Yup. Sometimes it's good to be tired!

heart day

We don't 'celebrate' Valentines' day at our house.
We never really have. Sometimes Jeff has got me some flowers or something but we've never made a big deal out of it.
I actually don't really like v-day.
It's too cliche and I don't need any teddy bears or chocolates.
I think that you need to show the people you love that you love them everyday. It's just copping out to leave it all on one day and slacking off for the rest of the year!

Today I feel so loved.
There is nothing that I can do so that Jeff will fall out of love for me.
I know that there is nothing that I can do so that Jesus will fall out of love for me.
He loves me right where I am.
Seeking His face...
Trying to be Holy...
Living out what I believe...
Being real and honest...
Not claiming to have all the answers...
I love to be loved.

This song is the best song ever.
And sums up how everyday should be lived.

Thank you Michael W. Smith for penning these words and singing this song.

i can't help myself

I have to post pictures now that the boys have moved downstairs into their very own, brand new rooms! Yes, we still need to install doors and baseboards. But it's almost done and that's the point! The kids have never enjoyed their own rooms, they've always had to share. It hasn't been a problem and I think that they are closer because of it.

We've been separating their toys, which has been fine, with no fights. Now we need a couple more toy boxes or organizers. I hadn't thought about that!

Anyhoo....
Here are some pics of our super awesome basement. Keeping in mind that it's still in the process of being moved into and organized.

Here's my laundry room with all of the freshly painted doors in it...

Here is our TV room... minus the TV for now...

Liam's room color is "Dill Pickle" which will match his new bedding perfectly...

Connor's room color is "Desert Twilight" which also matches the new bedding perfectly...

The bathroom... minus toilet and sink for now...
(I love the flooring though!)

And that's the tour for now.
When it's completely finished there will be more pictures to view.
You can count on that one!

aydan is 3!

You've come a long way little girlie!
Aydan had such a great 3rd birthday. We celebrated her day with a super awesome cake from Amanda's Creative Cakes along with lots of food and presents and family. It was a great day. I really want to make sure Aydan has a special birthday. She was born Dec 20th and because it's so close to Christmas I want it so she feels like it's all about her. Not lumped in with Christmas. She is special too! Here are some shots of her day and a link to check out Amanda's Cakes!

before

I am so excited that we, and when I say we I mean Jeff and his dad, are starting to work on finishing our basement! When we purchased the house we got it with the material we'd need to finish the basement. The kids have always shared a room so that has been no big deal. And they have so much more room in this house, still sharing, than they did at the 'tiny house'. Liam and Connor are super pumped to move downstairs and get their own space though. I think that Aydan might be a tad lonely in her huge purple room when the boys are settled downstairs.
It will definitely be an adjustment.

Here's some before pictures of our basement and hopefully it won't be too long until I'm boasting after pictures. A finished home for a Christmas present is music to my ears!
