OOOOH!
Two in one day!

I almost forgot.
Yesterday June 10th was my mom's 51st birthday!

I love you mama!

So if you see this lady....
Give her a hug and wish her a
Happy Birthday!

( she loves it )

it's june

Just thought I'd update my blog with something obvious
in case you didn't already know,
it's June!

That means it's almost Connor's 8th birthday!

And that means it's almost July.

Which brings Liam's 11th birthday!

I am astounded with how quickly time is flying by.

That is all for now.

( i know, lameness.
but it's too nice out today to spend it inside at a computer! )

trinity is 1

This is a little delayed but better than never!

I have the best niece and nephew ever.
They are the cutest kids and I wish
we could see them more than we do.
But, it is what it is
and I'm just happy that we could
be there for this wonderful little girl
on her first year celebration!

Isn't she just adorable!!!

Smash cake...

And here's Sam in all his cake eating cuteness...

I had to put in my kids as well!
This is Liam... he likes cake too...
( he's gonna be ticked that I posted this photo! )

Connor is a tad more dignified...
although I'm sure he shared his with the dog sooo...

And Aydan, being her sweet little self...

I love our family.
I'm proud to be a part of it.

indescribable

If you ever get the chance
check out Louie Giglio.
God has given him an amazing revelation
on the 'bigness' of God.

Here's a YouTube clip just to get you started!

psalm 25:14

"Friendship with the Lord is reserved for those who fear Him."
Psalm 25:14

Fear of the Lord is a touchy subject.
Fear is a hard word to say for me when I think about the Lord.
I love to say Friend, Teacher, Comfort... etc.
But as it says in the Psalms in order to have friendship with Him
I must fear him.

Now, being afraid of something/someone is different than a Holy Fear.
I am not afraid of God.
I do Fear him.
He is too big to be put in a box and labeled, this is God.
He measures the universe in the span of His hand.
We don't even know how big the universe is!
That's big.
He needs to be given His due respect.

So, when my heart is postured in a place of
honour and reverence for Him I am fearing Him.
To obey Him before I even understand what is going on,
I am fearing Him.
To trust that He has the best plans for me and rest in that promise,
I am fearing Him.

John Bevere says in his book "The Fear of The Lord",
"We cannot expect to be admitted into His presence
with an attitude of disrespect."
We must look inward and find out how our hearts are postured.
In a place of honour and respect for Him and who He has put in authority
or in a place of disrespect and rebellion.
Why would He want to come into a place, a home, church
or even inside of us,
if He is not treated as Holy but as common?

If I have to sing HOLY HOLY HOLY is the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY
for all of my days I will do it because He is soooo worth it.
He is soooo HOLY.
He is soooo wonderful.
He is too much for my mind to even fathom.
I don't ever want to treat the King of Kings
and Lord of Lords as common and regular.
I have given Him my life and
He will do with it as He sees fit.

elders

I found this list online and wanted to share it.
I edited it a bit to show what I believe and added the scriptures
so you wouldn't have to look them up.
If we can't come under authority we can't be taught.
And if there is nothing left to learn then what are we doing here.
I want to be teachable for the rest of my life!
I love my Jesus and he has appointed my leaders
so I love them and lift them up.

Our Responsibility Toward Elders:

The Scriptures make it clear that we have an obligation toward elders.

These responsibilities may be summarized as follows:

We are to obey them (Heb. 13:17)

17 Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.

We are to respect them (1 Thess. 5:13; 1 Tim. 5:1)

13 Hold them in the highest regard

in love because of their work.

Live in peace with each other.

1 Do not rebuke an older man harshly, but exhort him as if he were your father. Treat younger men as brothers,

We are to protect them from unfounded charges (1 Tim. 5:9-10)

9 No widow may be put on the list of widows unless she is over sixty, has been faithful to her husband,10 and is well known for her good deeds, such as bringing up children, showing hospitality, washing the feet of the Lord’s people, helping those in trouble and devoting herself to all kinds of good deeds.

We are to remember them and imitate them (Heb. 13:7)

7 Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.

We are to remunerate them (1 Tim. 5:17-18). Not just those who are “full-time” but the others as well.

17 The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.18 For Scripture says, “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain,(”a) and

“The worker deserves his wages.(”b)

Footnotes

a) Deut 25:4

b) Luke 10:7

We are to recognize them (1 Thess. 5:12; 1 Cor. 16:15-18)

12 Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you.

15 You know that the household of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and they have devoted themselves to the service of the Lord’s people. I urge you, brothers and sisters, 16 to submit to such people and to everyone who joins in the work and labors at it. 17 I was glad when Stephanas, Fortunatus and Achaicus arrived, because they have supplied what was lacking from you. 18 For they refreshed my spirit and yours also. Such men deserve recognition.
